Kansas Criminal charges have been filed for the second time against the Lawrence man over the sale of synthetic marijuana called K2.
Jefferson County Kansas Attorney Caleb Stegall on Thursday filed 20 charges against 30-year-old Jonathan Sloan, who owns Bouncing Bear Botanicals in Oskaloosa Kansas . Fifty-one-year-old Clark Sloan, of Olathe, also faces 20 charges in the investigation into the alleged distribution of controlled hallucinogenics.
Prosecutors say Bouncing Bear Botanicals supplies Sacred Journey, a downtown Lawrence Kansas business where K2 was seized during a raid last February. Jonathan Sloan faced eight drug charges last year after the raid, but those charges were dropped in April.
The Kansas Legislature last year banned the sale or possession of the substances found in K2.
The Lawrence Journal-World reports that Sloan contends he operates a legitimate botanical plant business that distributes botanicals across the country.
